Nor me, till I saw one for sale just now and thought “I know that nose”. The similarity of the rest came as even more of a surprise when I compared photos.
Methinks that in Thunderbirds World, Mrs Rolls Royce has been sleeping around.

Knowing British television production standards and budgets back then I wouldn’t be the slightest bit surprised if the model builders used a stock Jaguar model from Corgi as th e basis for their build...

Turns out not, having done some homework: apparently Gerry Anderson had a budget. According to wiki, the original FAB1 was 7ft long (presumably to be in proportion to supermarionettes, which aren’t small puppets), cost 50,000 quid in today’s money to build, and was sanctioned by Rolls themselves.
I guess the designer just took current fashion trends - and Jag’s big saloon would have been more on-trend than Rolls’s in 1960s London - and extrapolated, before grafting a Rolls grille on and splashing some gimmickry around.

Slightly more involved and expensive than a modified Corgi die-cast!
